Quarters and horseshoes have become very SKOAL in their own, unique ways. Later, the Skoal putting tournament was held thus adding another element to the all-around competition. It started incorporating different “games” to its competition list. And what is wrong with a little competition between good friends sharing beer?
Add these to the individual, team scramble, and best individual golf shots and you have the makings for a “best of the Skoal” award. Since in 2002, Balmoral Golf Club hosted the tournament, the award was so named. Hence the Balmoral Cup. Mind you, the Balmoral Cup will be awarded every year regardless of tournament location.
Points are awarded for placing in the top eight in each competition.
25 for first
21 for 2nd
17 for 3rd
13 for 4th
11 for 5th
9 for 6th
7 for 7th
5 for 8th
10 points are awarded for closest to the pin, longest drive, and longest putt winners.
Each member of a team gets full amount of points (ie scramble team and horseshoe team winners all get 25 points).
Ties are split evenly.
Super Hack, Hack, and Pro winners get 25 points each and so on.
